Community Advocacy

DEOI grantees in Mississippi helped file over 25,000 broadband map challenges through the BEAD program, ensuring fair access for unserved areas.

MS Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy partnered with the DEOI team to amplify local voices in a documentary spotlighting grassroots digital equity leaders in Mississippi.

DEOI grantee organizations facilitated a convening with FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel and HBCU leaders in Jackson, MS, focusing on the Affordable Connectivity Program.

Indigenous & Local Leadership

In New Mexico, DEOI grantees collaborated with tribal leaders to build sustainable broadband networks.

New Mexico based DEOI grantees partnered with the DEOI team to produce a documentary featuring the efforts of the Santa Fe Indian School to advance broadband solutions for Indigenous communities.

Data Tools & Training

CIRCLE at Tufts University, a DEOI grantee, developed an interactive resource mapping broadband access across 17 states, linking digital access to civic engagement opportunities.

Grantees in South Texas provided digital skills training to Colonia residents via an ambassador program.

Regional Collaboration

In Georgia, DEOI grantee Empower Southwest Georgia organized and held a panel to address barriers to broadband equity in rural areas.

Arkansas Impact Philanthropy recently took center stage at a state broadband summit in Hot Springs, Arkansas to moderate a panel discussion. The event brought together 400 participants from diverse sectors and provided a unique platform to highlight the importance of digital inclusion and accountability, fostering important conversations about the future of broadband access in the state.
